I'm going to have a new gun for turkey season, just a couple more days...

Shotgun I would assume.....
If so, do you know if you would be allowed to use it for sika with buckshot during muzzleloader season?

She's purdy. Maybe I'll hire you to build me one... ;D
Any idea on what the weight of a double barrel 10g would be? I know heavy, but was wondering a ballpark figure. When I put the bead on my turkey I want to KNOW he's going down. ;D

Frank I just weighed my 10 SxS Pedersoli for ya, it is right at 7 1/4 lbs. Not bad at all to carry, but it's light enough that at a heavy load it kicks pretty stout. You'll have to get one of those, doubles are a whole 'nuther animal that I'm not sure I want to fool with building...yet.

A lot more involved in getting everything lined up right to fire I would assume. 7 1/4 isn't bad at all. My slug gun weighs quite a bit more than that.
Don't know why, but for some reason I want a double barrell blackpowder shotgun. Could be that easy second shot. I'd like to use it for waterfowl hunting too - think that would be pretty neat.
Been wanting one for a while, but the prices I've seen are what has kept me from pulling the trigger.

I've used mine for ducks and geese a few times. That Pedersoli is probably lighter than most cartridge SxS's, I think it has 28" barrels, too, and has choke tubes with chrome lined barrels for steel shot. I picked it up from the Cabelas bargain cave in Nebraska on a trip through almost 15 years ago and it was $200+ then, I think they're over 900 now. I'll keep my eyes open for you, occasionally see them for sale on some of the BP sites.

Please do keep your eyes open. I haven't seen anything south of 1,000.

Nice work Dave, as always!
Frank, I looked, and looked, and looked, andlookedandlooked for a BP 12 ga SxS for YEARS!
Finally found one about 15 years ago, then found another one, nicer and cheaper, 2 days later! Then, once I closed and locked the safe door, they must've started breeding....
So they are out there.
