Rod used - $10 Zebco special Bait used - Bill Dance rod/reel, berkley powerbait Catch- Big A$$ Bass Last saturday morning I went trout fishing for some stockers at Gilbert run with some friends. We had about 6 lines setup along the wall with the doughbait/treble hook setup. All of a sudden my buddies $30 Bill Dance fishing rod goes flying over the side into the lake. We look and figure this thing is gone. About 15 - 20 minutes later I notice my dinky Zebco rod has been bent and the line looks taught. I go pull on it and sure enough something is on the end. I think it's snagged but it starts to pull in so I think a tree branch. My buddies girlfriend says "maybe you caught a fishing rod" 3 seconds later I see weeds coming up and right behind that is my buddies rod. We start laughing and are all excited. I get the rod up and start to untangle the mess of 4 four rods and my buddy says "there is something on my rod!" I'm thinking sweet its a big trout. He starts reeling in and this bass breaks the surface and we go nuts. We get him up close and I scoop him up with the net. There was no fight left in this guy and I thought he was a goner. He must have been snared up for at least 15 minutes. We snap a quick photo and I put him back in. He rolls over once and I'm thinking he's getting mounted. But he corrects himself and swims away. Whew! We also brought home 4 trout (3 more got away when they snapped the lines) that I turned into trout stew. ;D Attachments:

that is funny.. I took Big Mike trout fishing there once awhile back and I was handling some business when he tells me I am getting a bite. I told him to go a head a get it.. He sets the hook I walk over and he reels in a tangled line. I take the rod over so he can fish and start pulling in the tangled part and here comes a nice little ultra light combo.. I start laughing and telling Mike about my new fishing pole as I go to reel in the rest of the tangled line it started pulling and a nice trout was ont he other line.. Seems someone let their pole get yanked off the pier there and the trout happened to get tangled in my line.. Caught the fish and the pole and it was awesome.. Congrats on a fine bass mikie.. That is by far the biggest one I have ever seen pulled out of there...
