Anyone taken the risk of planting yet? My dad risked it a while back & he had corn 3-4 inches tall April 1. Yummy. ;D I moved, so I don't really have anywhere for vegtables , but I've got some apple trees planted that are getting eaten alive by bugs. Any suggestions for apple trees?

Don't mess with apples here, the bugs I've got that eat them are 100-200 lbs and have brown fur and antlers!
Got lettuce, spinach, chives and onions in, all growing well. Having to water already though, it's dry for this time of year! Have the other garden plots worked up, and even have 90% of my field worked up already - that's never happened here before May.

I put two early girls in the last week of March to take a chance, but the frost got them. I've got an early girl and a better boy now that seem to be holding up fine the last 2 weeks.

How's everybody coming along? I've got maters and hot peppers still on the windowsill I started from seed, 3-4" tall now and just waiting for a warm day to transplant outside. Seeded in the garden cukes, green and yellow zukes and yellow summer squash this weekend. Few bell pepper plants growing well in the garden already.

I was a bit overly eager. My early girls got killed by that frost from a few weeks back. I've got some better boys and early girls growing now.
