Anybody else picked up one of the new Remington 887 pumps yet?
I got one a few weeks ago, the camo waterfowl model, after looking at guns for awhile. Not sure what to say about it yet. Awfully light and plastic feeling, which is neither good nor bad, just different. First round of shells the hi-vis front sight fell off and was lost to the marshes. Armor lokt coating is okay, but already got some chips in the stock portion.
Would say that I'm not sure I like it, but the thing is - it doesn't like to miss! Been just hammering ducks and geese with it last split. And shot 3.5" buckshot for sika with it, those loads are freaking deadly. I will do much more testing with it over the rest of the season...

Buddy of mine uses it running dogs in Va, and can't find it lately. Everwhere I checked online was either OUT OF STOCK and/or DISCONTINUED! Guy I hunted with in Church Creek in the 70s did EXTENSIVE patterning (and killing) and ALWAYS went with # 1. Remeber when the state was trying to wipe them out back then? Had some SERIOUS bag limits and extra weekends!

I have always used 00, like the range.
I think most #1 buck sold on the Shore was actually used for pass shooting geese when lead was legal...

I remember in the '70s seeing what I thought were deer stands way, and I mean WAY, up in the pine trees along Blackwater's border. Then geese would glide over and the guys would light them up! I guess getting a 25+ yard jump helped!
