Anyone have any tips for hunting dogs in cold weather. This weekend is sure set up to be freezing. I was told to keep fresh water on hand and maybe get a heater. Any thoughts on heater brands? I have a vest for him and thought a shammy would help keep the water off in between retrieves. Anything else?

I just keep a vest on mine and keep him out of the wind when he is wet. They'll be just fine. Mine just can't get enough of it no matter how cold.
BTW: I always carry a couple of bottles of water for him to drink.

what i usually do on a long cold day in the water blind, is wrap my dog up in a electric blanket, with a long extension cord. and usually add about 2 shots of wild turkey to each bottle of water....

Is the water bottle with Wild Turkey for you or the dog?
Just asking, LOL.
