Well guys Im back... been a while since I last made a post, but i broke my leg, shoulder and ankle in two spots in september and started walking again in january, and now Im out looking for a job... life couldn't be better... Oh wait yea it could! The weather could be in the mid to upper 60's... perfect weather for fishing, but sadly we have a dusting of snow of the ground and temps in the 20's Anyways... with having ALOT of time on my hands since I was down... i have been tying up some baitfish/streamer patterns to use this year in my local reservoir and creek to target the smallies, largemouth, and the spawning white bass late spring early summer... Our main forage out here in this lake is gizzard shad and other small baitfish (creek chubs, darters, sculpins, etc...) so my patterns are based off these Double bunnies, on a 1/0 mustad hook used for deer hair flies... and weighted them with lead wire My take on EP mini clousers... tied on a lindy wide gap walleye hook, weighted with 1/40oz dumbell eyes... put some color in them to match the rainbow darters and chubs in the water system... A simple shad... big profile n the water... tied on a 4x strong short shank hook, weighted with lead wire And finally the realistic crayfish pattern... tied on a 2x strong streamer hook... weighted with lead wire and dumbell eye near the hook eye to create the subtle "flutter" backwards motion
