Hey guys, shot my first fish of the year in yesterday's unseasonably warm weather. 30 inch carp...just thought I'd let you know that they're out there now.

I was out there on Saturday. The bite was a little slow, but I did manage a 16lb blue cat. A buddy also caught a 9lb blue. A few smaller ones and a white perch as well. Hope the weather holds out for this weekend.

Sorry for the late reply, Yeah, I saw one big pod of about maybe 60 fish that I followed for the day. They were all on the very bottom of the river but the spot I fish (sort of a secret, but near the lower dam of loch raven reservoir pm me for more specifics if you're interested) only goes four feet deep so that wasn't a big deal. Good luck!

Thanks Most of my bank fishing is from bridges crossing a few of the clear water creeks around my house. We were out in the Susquahanna when we were in the boat. Big carp from a 10' hole under a bridge I shoot at I use a modified InnerLoc head on a solid aluminum arrow to shoot down deep from a 62lb Talon with no letoff. You can see the bottom in 10' of water on sunny days without a polaroid lense on your camera

Carp from the boat takes allot of searching since they are schooled up like Birdman was saying. Takes an hour to find them then you shoot till you are done with them. We just only go out in sections of the river where you can see to the bottom in the deepest parts.

Looks like fun. What do you do with all those carp? Suckers go to a bird rescue for sick eagles and osprey. Carp go to a pig farm. Cats go nuts when I pull up to the pig farm.

Syoung, thanks for the suggestions for disposal of carp. I don't want to just throw them away or bury them so I've been eating them, and I am sick of carp now. We usually have 2-3 fish a week which is an awful lot of meat to chow down on. I'll check to see if anybody farms pigs near me.
