Anybody who puts in for Blackwater permits should start checking thier mailboxes, Allan usually mails them out right around July 4th!
Deerhunter and Big Fox, you two putting in again this year?

You know I will be putting in for all the hunts. I will call you when my permit comes in the mail to figure out exactly what I need to check off on. Deer Hunter had said he wanted to do more Sika hunting this coming year, and I told him I am down for many trips as well, we will have to switch up on driving over there but I look forward to it this year.. Maybe I can see another one and even get a shot or two off...

I'm putting in, but only for bow & shotgun. Did the early ML last year, but it was a joke...WAY too many people for me.

I am pretty sure that shotgun hunt we did last year was a first come first draw deal. so just because we did it last year should hold no difference to this year. As long as we put in early and are the first to ask for a site we should get it. that is how it was explained to me last year by the OSPREY anyway...

I'm not sure what I'm going to put in for either. I didn't even get the chance to hunt the early MZ last year. I might try late MZ to give me a break from public. Maybe I'll go for the bow permit as well.

Fox, it's new every year, so what you drew last year doesn't affect this season, just send it back in ASAP and you should get your area picks. Allan usually moves folks around in B2 for shotgun, so we won't have the same stand sites for that, but that whole area is good.
Bart, there was practically nobody there on the late MZ day last year! I always put in for the Oct MZ hunt, but only as a backup to my normal spots, it does get pretty hectic in there for that few days.
I'm probably putting in for all the gun and MZ hunts, not sure about bow though...

By the way Fox, love that line in your avatar! Maybe this year we'll get you up to a dime.

Mine was here at 3pm today and by 5:15 was in the Post Office, should be back at Blackwater tomorrow afternoon! I picked area K-4 for muzzleloader and J-1 for shotgun. I must like hunting there, can't believe I just wrote a $50 check when I've got plenty of sika spots I can kill deer for free. . . . but there is that one big stag I had the run-in with last year, I hope to see him again...
