No way, that's just freakin wrong! I've been trying for years to find a bearded hen to kill!!!! Tell me, please tell me - and if you don't I'm going to throw some serious anti-sika mojo on you - that you had fried turkey eggs for lunch!?!?! I really want to kill a bearded hen to get an egg or two out of to eat for my life list. But congrats anyway, you SOB. ;D I have called everyone I know that i thought would care and a bunch of people that could not care less So which camp am I supposed to be in??

Well I am two fer..... Went out and this poor soul lost his/her life.. I was talking to a guy i know and he told me this was a hen with a beard. not know much about turkey hunting i thought he was kidding till we breasted it out and he reaches in and pulls out an egg.. I was like wholly crap i am in trouble and he said it was legal since it had a beard. kind of like a doe with antlers.. but my season ended beautifully and I could not be happier. got one at the taxdermists and a fan/beard mount in the works for this lil fella...... i105.photobucket.com/albums/m236/andyfox11/jake.jpg[/IMG]
Get that joker mounted by a commercial guy and use it for a decoy. You'll just have to send it off out of state.

Get that joker mounted by a commercial guy and use it for a decoy. You'll just have to send it off out of state. Why out of state? I know my taxidermist down here has done a few for decoys, aren't that much harder than a normal mount from what I've seen. Cheaper than the big Hazel Creek $$$, too.

hey fox congrats that there is a very big bird. I am a new hunter and i really cant wait to start hunting for turkey. I killed my first deer which was a button buck. my heart was beating really fast when i saw it and after i shot it i was shaking. I killed it and dropped it right in the corn pile. It was opening day of shotgun of last year when i killed it. I had a great experience hunting!

About time Fox. I would be careful with that hen. I don't know what the regs are on bearded hens.

About time Fox. I would be careful with that hen. I don't know what the regs are on bearded hens. Regs only ever require a sex feature, not an actual sex. Because anomalies exist, you should never find in any state a reg that says, “Buck / Doe only or Tom (male) / Hen Turkey only”. Instead you will always see, “Antlerless, Antlered, Bearded or Non-Bearded”. You’re in good shape Fox. Congratulations brother!

Thanks everyone. i sure had fun.. I wish everyone great success for the rest of the year. i guess now it will be fishing season.. I have my fan and small beard drying out right now.. i will get a nice plak for it this week to put it on the wall... I am slowly getting more and more of my wifes crap off my basement walls... soon i will have the basement with enough dead stuff she will not want to come down here anymore and my mission will be complete..
