April 24-24, 2008, Fort Frederick Annual 18th Century Market Fair The staffs of Fort Frederick State Park and the Friends of Fort Frederick are pleased to announce that we will host the annual 18th-century Market Fair, April 24 – 27, 2008. The fair represents eastern North America from 1730 through 1790. The Fair is open to sutlers, traders, street vendors, and entertainers as well as individuals, groups, military units, and American Indians portraying the appropriate time period and geographic area. friendsoffortfrederick.info/market_fair.htmSupposed to be one of the better period type events in the region, I'm heading up for one day to check it out. Just west of Hagerstown, few minutes off the interstate. Lots of old style muzzleloading stuff! ;D

Coming up again soon, last week/weekend of April. This a great event for a day trip, especially if you have kids. Plenty to see and do, the old fort is open, very relaxing atmosphere. Probably even a few gunmakers there for anyone wanting a flintlock who deosn't know how to use Google... www.friendsoffortfrederick.info/market_fair.htm
