Yellow perch are here. Caught about 30 in 15 minutes on Wednesday. All males but were all about 10". Could have probably caught some bigger ones but did'nt have the time and the tide was dead low.

If I were to take the long dirt road near the bridge at Allen's Fresh, which way would I want to take my jon boat when I put it into the water? I would be facing the intersection of 301..... I want to catch some yellow perch this year!

Never put a boat in there, but I don't think there's much of a ramp. From what I understand you can get a small boat in there. Not sure though.

you can easily get a jon boat in there, if it is one that you can man handle.. you don't want to try and get a trailer down there... my brother, DUCKBUSTER, his uncle and myself have taken jon boats down that road plenty and just had them in the back of the truck.. just hand unload and slip them into the water.. there is no "ramp" there but for a smal.l jon boat it is pretty easy... Speaking of which, DUCKBUSTER when we going.....
You can always throw on some waders or even hip boots and walk back into the back but it is a pain in the arse......
Coots poo poo Canoe is a nice little addition to get back there too.....

To all those fishing at Allen's fresh..... Everyone I talked to down there said they were catching perch on chartreuse curly tails only! I used a white spinner which caught me my limit 3 times last year.... this year, nothing!! Everyone around me was using the curly tails and catching their limits. Others were using minnows, not a live bait person except for trout but I might give it a try! Good luck!!

Just prior to the rains the past several days, we were catching them over here on the shore at small trib's off the choptank.
Deep water holes near creek bends on low tides moving in or out didn't matter. Minnows on bottom rigs.....Of course the water is nasty now but in a few days watch out......

I heard that white perch is being caught down there. My buddy caught 3 there today. He said that they would put a curlie tail on their line and a bobber about 24 inches up and they were really biting for about 30 minutes. THen things died.... It has been a tought year for me to get out there and put the time into it!
