Here is my dad with a fine Jake. Out of State license - $130.00, New Turkey gun - $400.00. Hearing your dad hoot and holler after shooting doubles - Priceless!!!! I wasn't going to shoot a Jake but I couldn't resist the perfect flying follow-up shot.

Work is for those who were not out turkey hunting today!!!! At about 6:30 I had a gobbler with a ground-dragging beard walk by me at about 60 yards, but hever got a shot. I think someone or something spooked him because I heard him walking from a few hundred yards away, not calling, just looked like he was on a mission to get somewhere. About 30 minutes later, I made a random cluck & got a response...I kept talking to them & before I knew it, I had 3 toms around me strutting & looking for the hen. Two of them may find the hen later this afternoon, but one of them sure won't! Had about a 4" beard - not huge, but a trophy to me. Now that I've got a weight off of my shoulder, I am going to concentrate on getting one with my bow.

There is just soooo much wrong with this! First off, all we've heard the past two months is about bows and video!!! Then we have a turkey that's mooning us. Not to mention a bird with a beard not much longer than Deerhunter's!! Then we've got a pic with the gobbler's head pointed toward, well, the gobbling position - what are you doing with that bird!!!! AND FINALLY, we have a perfectly good shotgun turned into a feather vase - I fully expect to see a treebark peace sign on the stock next. ;D But way to go Frank!!! ;D

Congrats to you both! Awesome sharing that hunt with your dad! And deer hunter last year was your first time turkey hunting and you bagged one the first day or two. This year is your second year turkey hunting and you bag one the third day. You rock brother! Thats two more turkeys than I've killed in the past two years, best believe if I get a shot at a jake, he won't live to become a tom.
But that pic is.....well......um........that birds got a nice ass!!! LOL
