Mmmmmmmmm...... Upper ten, I have a few of those and Crass bottles, a few of those as well. I hear alot of old soda bottles are dug up when excavating on the eastern shore. Not sure why, I guess cause its so flat, trash wasn't buried as deep. How did you find the dates on the seagrams bottles? I pass on liquer bottles, see them all the time. Might have to investigate them a bit closer next time.

I haven't seen either of those, but see tons of Star Soda Water bottles. Got a few old Dr. Pepper 10 to 4 bottles, cokes from Cambridge bottlers (embossed on bottom) with patent dates of 1913 and 1923 on them. A great site if you are into bottles is www.blm.gov/historic_bottles/index.htm check it out!

I bookmarked the website. Very cool, didn't know that kind of info was out there. I find alot from the fifties-seventies and eighties. Found an old house full of steel soda cans from the seventies. I love old crap that I find!

Osprey,
What would be a good kayak for deer hunting? I was looking at those Mad River hybrid canoes at Gander Mt.
I've never got around to doing it but I've always wanted to hunt late blackpowder for sikas in the backwaters of Fishing Bay.

Not sure which ones those are? You definitely need a cockpit type kayak if you go the kayak route, not one of the sit on tops or solid hulls with holes or foot pedals - water's cold then and you want to keep dry. Mine is a 13'4" Old Town tandem, I sit in the front seat and use the back seat for gear. Depending on how much gear you want to carry most over 12' should be okay for occasional use for sika, but 14-16' is better and probably safer.
You really only need one big enough for you and your gear. Strap your stand on top of the hull. Don't gut your deer, either, if you're short on space. Leave it whole, tie a rope around it and float it out - a whole deer floats amazingly well.
I've got a canoe, too, but rarely use it since I got the kayak unless I'm taking a friend and we have double gear. Kayaks are just SOOO much easier to paddle and quicker covering distances.

I've got my eye on an Old Town Predator 14 kayak. Almost $900 though. I'll keep looking for something used.
I already learned that dragging a gutted sika thru water is like trolling with a parachute!
What kind of lights do use on the boat for paddling in and out in the dark? Do you ever paddle across big open water or do you stay in the creeks?

The only light I use is a Petzal headlamp, and normally that's turned off - can see better without it in most cases. Paddle boats like canoes and kayaks aren't required to have lights unless powered, so no legal requirements on that.
I'm primarily in smaller creeks and ponds when kayaking, if I've got big expanses of water to cross I use the jonboat, although I paddle anyplace when just out knocking around.
You're near Salisbury, aren't you? Have you stopped in to Survival Products? Check with Rick to see what he has, he's on business 13.

I'm not from Salisbury but I'm in that area a few times a month. I saw that place before. Next time I'll stop in and look around.
Thanks for the info.
