If any of you are in to trout fishing the best around here that I know of are in the ponds. Gilbert run was just stocked thursday of this week! I'll be going there sunday morning! Might see if I can make it to allen's fresh tomorrow also! Wife said something about finally having a sunday off so she wants to spend time, I see it as having a baby sitter!!

When did you go? I went Sunday morning and me and two friends got skunked. Two other guys were there and they didn't even get a bite. I was very disappointed!!

Teach me pointers........ ha! I need a water proof fuse. Everytime I throw the dynamite in it snuffs out. Think you can do better....... On the serious side, I use a night crawler and pump it full of air with a siringe. I put split shot 18-24 inches from the worm so that the worm floats in their feeding area. What do you do?

pretty much the same thing, but i use a sliding sinker and a swivel so when they come up and grab the bait they do not feel the weight of the sinker. we caught a few on powerbait but the majority were caught on the ole night crawler...

Even with a good fuse the dynamite don't work too well, try pulling your truck close to the edge and use jumper cables off the battery to shock 'em!!

i use to catch worms that way in Utah. my dad made me up some probes you could stick in the ground. we would water the lawn for a few hours that day, stick the probes in the ground and plug in the device and the night crawlers would jump out of their holes. we would then just walk around and pick them up and throw them in a mason jar or what ever. worked like a champ..

Maybe you could go a bit further into detail on that. I'm sick of buying them at the store.

basically take an old extension cord tha cut down to the wire and wrap like a piece of rebar or a long spike of some sort around the wire (at least 12 inches long) then just water your lawn for a few hours so the electricity will move threw the ground and if you have like 5 or 6 of the spike on there you just go out and stick those in the ground and then plug it in. the electricity makes them surface and you just unplug the device and walk around picking them up. best to do it at night when they are more likely to be out anyway. i will tell you it is not the safest thing in the world to do but effective....

I used to do the electric cord trick back in the '70s! Used a tennis ball/lacrosse ball on either rod as an insulator.
Saw Hughesville mudhole/algae jungle getting stocked today.
