We had a pretty good day yesterday - caught around 50 catfish, though nothing huge. Even had to dodge iceburgs on the way home, but all in all, a fun day. THE FIRST FISH OF THE YEAR! (too bad I didn't catch it) The biggest on the day - about 6 1/2 pounds. My dad caught it & is now telling me he is the better fisherman. Ice on the way in.

That is what we went after in the first place, but after an hour and a half with no bites, we moved, just so we could catch something. Did get a call from my buddy about five minutes ago. Said he was sitting in his house watching merganzers eat yellow perch.

Haven't heard anything on the yellow perch yet. I have a friend that keeps me up to date! Last year around the middle of March I got a call from him to meet him down at Marshall hall landing. He found a ton of Rockfish. Couldn't keep them but combined in an hour we caught a little over 40. They were between 2-6 pounds and we caught one that was 16 pounds. Where do you guys go for yellow perch?

I go to the Nanjemoy Creek, and out of Marshall Hall for yellow perch. Odd on those rockfish, but sounds like you caught a bunch. Whenever I am fishing that time of year, I normally catch bigger ones - 20 pounds or so, but not near that many. Must be the location.

Sure did! Maybe next time I won't have to dodge ice on the way home. Today's snow was a suprise to me. Maybe we should rally our guns & get the groundhog that said winter was over!
