Never gotten to look for those, but it would be neat. This past year was my first year sika hunting & I am hooked. Those things are neat. Just wish they were a bit closer to home. Pretty nice to have that matching antler - too bad its not a pair!!

Found a sika(hind, doe, female) skull while hunting. Looked like the size of a fawn whitetail.

Yeah I don't know how you found that one. Looks like a pumpkin handle. I should have kept the skull it was pretty cool.

Is that a sika shed? How big is it...where, when? I got an eye for detail! ;D It's even smaller than it looks. It was pedicle side up,in the sand,(only thing showing) among some cactus on Assateague last October. Happened to glance at it,whilst I was answering nature's call ;D Found a decent 3 point WT shed a couple minutes later. Funny thing was,not a single bite/gnaw mark on either one. Would have looked for more ,but them $#@$$ skeeters already had me 2 quarts low!

Skeeters are good, they keep out the riff-raff and less dedicated! That's a neat little shed, I'm still trying to figure out how it would have looked on the buck...

I'm for sure riff-raff,but I'm dedicated riff-raff. Some folks even think I ought to be committed. ;D Saw my first sika in the mid 70s on Malkus's place, and didn't know what the heck it was! And the bugling,in the pre dawn darkness, didn't help with the imagination of a young boy! They all had a good laugh at my expense! That shed looks like it HAD to have curved back into the skull. Maybe he had a migrane?

That's what I thought. Looks like it curves back and would almost hit it in the head. A few years back, I shot a whitetail whose antler dropped down and was almost in his mouth. I'll have to take a pic & post it.
