I have shot a few new bows this year. Hoyt Vetrix-very smooth and quiet-decent speed.Bowtec Tribute-a little more speed than the Hoyt, but not as smooth.I did'nt think either bow had any noticeable jump or vibration. But i decided to buy a leftover 06 Hoyt Trykon and save $150.The Trykon is very smooth, quiet and fast compared to my 7yr.old Jennings.

I don't think it's necessary to get the newest & baddest bow on the market. I haven't even paid any attention to the new bows for the past 5 or 6 years. I am happy and confident with mine & that's all that matters.

Big Fox, Do you have the switchback XT ? Everyone I have spoke to, that has the XT, says they love it and the advantage that the drenaline has is minimal. They all say that they' re staying with the XT. They also said that if they were in the market for a new bow the drenaline would be the one. Sounds like to me, the XT is a great shooting bow. Hopefully the drenaline is just as good for me. My last Bow was the SQ 2 which was a new model in 2001. Since then, Mathews has made major improvements to they bows, not to say that they weren't great bows back then, but the difference between the SQ 2 and the drenaline in smoothness, quietness, speed and weight are amazing to me.

I have heard that matthews came out with a new line of bows for like half the cost. I can't remember what they call the bow but I drew it back last week and it felt smooth like a matthews. I heard they wanted to be able to sell it at bigger retailers. And a price point more people can afford. When I remember the name I'll post it.

I shot the Drenaline and really liked it, but decided to stay with my Hoyt I got in 2003 for a few more seasons. Price of new strings and cables is much cheaper than a new bow! Still shoots good, too.

I'm right there with you bowtech! I have a Patriot that I bought new in 2002. It still impresses me! I would however buy a Matthews or a Hoyt for my next bow. There just are not many BowTech dealers, if any, on the Shore that I know of.

Thanks powdernut, thats it. It was driving me crazy not being able to remember. Feels like a matthews with the price of a bear. (No offense to anyone shooting a high end bear, I was refering to the ones walmart sells)
