Like The Deer Hunter said, a dull knife to get the feathers off, then scrape the glue off. Use a little bit of acetone and some light grit sand paper at the end.

I just bought a dozen carbons from cabela's with blazers on them. They were full length so I had to cut them down and glue the inserts. I was shooting about 6" high compared to my goldtips with 4" feathers. The dozen only cost $65 and I love the way they shoot. They are consistent enough that I already busted a nock at 20yds and have only been shooting them for 2 days.

Don't think I wasn't scared Sunday when I broke the tape out to check the length!
