I just purchased a Bowtech Allegiance. It is one fast shooting Bow! Have not really got a good chance to sight it in yet with the recent weather though.

Brett,
I just noticed you bought a Hoyt Laser Tech, excellent choice. I bought mine in November 2005, and had never shot a compound bow in my life and it had been at 30 years since I shot any bow. the first day out I was putting arrows in a 4 inch group at 20 yds, consistently. I was in shock and awe!!!!!! So far I've split two carbon arrows and ruined a bunch of feathers from tight groups (an acclaim to the Bow not my ability). I haven't put a deer down yet but I did get a nice Black Bear with it in Canada last year. Pierced the heart and both lungs at 12 yards. I see no need to buy another bow for a very long time.

You are crazy - you don't need to buy a new bow every year!

You don't NEED a lot of things, but what sort of reason is that?!?!? New bows are always good!

just bought a bowtech guardian...wow. shot a mathews for the last 6yrs but went and shot about 5-6 different bows and the guardian is imo by far the best. Go try it out, i guantee you wont look back. Further more throw a limb driver rest on there and you can pretty much order some more arrows, ur gonna need em

I'm shooting a Bowtech Equalizer. 27" draw at 60 lbs 354 garin arrow at 288 fps. Very quiet and a great bow for those of us with short arms. No problems blowing through the deer last year at all.

I just got a Fred Bear Instint. Shot every Bowtech, and Hoyt. None to me shot better. Quite as anything. Priced right and Bear has been around forever. Mathews bought its way up in the ranks. I shot the bowtechs and all of them to me have way to much hand shock.

Deerslayer, I did the same exact thing. I went to a pro shop called macrotech in Glen Burnie and the owner set up about six or seven bows for me. I went through the process of elimination by shooting a Darton, Browning, Hoyt, Mattews, Diamond, Bowtech and perhaps some others I cannot recall. I ended up choosing a Bowtech, but for me there was no handshock. I think when you buy a new bow you want to feel comfortable with it as if it is an extension of your body. I went into my research with an open mind and no biases towards one brand over another and came out feeling damn good about my purchase!

I have just clicked "pay" on a 2007 unfired LH Bowtech Guardian. This will be my "dry-land" bow. Everything that swims is having a 2007 Browning Barracuda aimed at it though. 38#, AMS retriever, single pin sight, Cajun Archery yellowjacket shafts. Am extremely happy with the barracuda, will report on the Guardian when it gets in.
