busco, I enjoy shooting groundhogs too much to trap them! I have tried snares and 220s a couple times, with mixed results, and a guy I know swears by cantalope as bait for them. He just gets a few pieces off a salad bar. Have caught them in box traps with 'lope. But even with cat food, so who knows. If you see what hole they dive in when scared, try setting there. Then shoot them!

been after some pesky groundhogs.... hardcorehunter is going to help me some... but any suggestions welcome i have two body traps set with some appples right outside of one of his holes been almost a week some apples are missing but no groundhog.. it is a weird setup of holes. he has like 4 of them and they are at 4 different sides of an old barn wood pile.. different shapes and sizes of every hole.. should i just be patient or what should i try? ? pour some kerosene & gas down all the holes it'll make them leave. We would burn them out but since you've got them next to a wood pile that's out of the door.

davep, Tonight i finally went through the first 2 pages of your thread, and some great pics of the animals. You are a trapping machine. Excellant work!! Do you sell the pelts and furs? I,m just curious , i never trapped before. I got some beavers that are desroying the woods behind my house, considering doing something about the problem. What do you suggest i do ? Trapp them?? I've got my nuisance wildlife permit from DNR. I can help you if you want.
