Got to use some of the foam scent made by Downwind Scents this weekend. They make it in two different applications. One is like a can of hair moose where the foam can be applied in as little or as much foam as you want and the other is more like a spray can with an added lock so you can set the can down and let it spray all out while you get up in your stand. They offer just about every scent out there from Apple foam scent to Tarsal glad scent. The foam sticks around longer than liquid scents and has a larger surface area for the wind to Cary the scent. Haven't had any deer near me yet to really see this stuff work, but I will be using it this weekend in a great spot where I know there will be deer.

I used the apple foam a few weeks ago for sika and they loved it. 5 different does and fawns came in to me from downwind, searching for the apples, and one of the fawns stood under my stand and the phragmites leaves I'd put the foam on. One of the only good, positive scent experiences I've ever had with sika!!!

I used the corn scent tonight and had good results. I had 3 yearlyings come to the spot that I put it. I also used the the small so bleat can tonignt which worked on the 1st yearling. I brought hime to me, stood right under my climber. I did shoot the second yearling. Not something I usually do but land owner wants deer killed! Don't want to loose a good spot if you know what I mean, they are to hard to come by. I did hear a buck grunt tonight as I was climbing down to retrieve dead deer. I saw a big, Talbot Co., buck working across bean field as I was leaving at about 6:15.

Congrats on the doe. I'm going to try some food based scents this year. Sounds like deer stomachs lead them more than there brain sometimes. Maybe a little estrous in the mix, like a buffet of food and....you know.

Two things about the foam. One - they need to work on better tops and dispersion mechanicals. Two - I'm glad I got the apple.
'Cause I'd put it in my pocket this morning knowing it was one of the first things I'd need when I hit the marsh, but when I sat in the truck my leg pressed it against the seat and I got a pocket full of foam!! Was wondering what smelled like apples, then why my leg was wet, then "OH @%#^". REALLY glad I didn't try the sika pee.

Thats classic, I can just picture it happening to me. The sika pee could have been dangerous if you were ground hunting and your gun misfired, with the rut and all. LOL.

My Jeep smells really nice now! Except every time I drive anywhere I have a craving for apples, apple turnovers, apple pie, apple cider...

I was using some of the doe-n-heat foam this past Saturday and had 6 Turkey walking my way. Once they got to where I had placed the foam they started acting a little funny, like walking around it and stayed there for a few minutes then they turned around and went back the other way. I'm not sure if turkey rely on sense of smell to indicate danger or anything I just though it was a little weird and wasn't sure if they actually smelled anything or not. Later on in the evening I did have two doe come out of the thicket I was hunting near and smell near the foam. One of the two doe began to bleat after having smelled something in the air..(doe-n-heat maybe?)

I don't ever use the whole can. I'm afraid it might smell like a does who-ha BLEW UP! A little hopefully will be strong enough but not too strong.
