I still had fun and of course will be back. Osprey failed to mention he missed those deer twice and i have the empty slugs to prove it.. i was glad somebody got something but it was pretty slow in my neck of the woods. i saw probably 20,000 geese and thousands of ducks going in and out of the water there in Blackwater. sure would be nice if you could waterfowl hunt there. good luck to all chasing the elusive Sika... anyone the goes over just yell from your tree that "Big Fox is not here" and you are sure to see plenty........

Don't worry Fox, I didn't see anything yesterday either. I wasn't in BW, but I didn't even hear a bugle.

yeah that was a highlight of a two day hunt... 6 whistles in the PHRAG.. WOO FREAKIN HOO......
better than past years though, if it keeps going up form here I may see one in the next two or three years..... it will make it that much sweeter when i do get to bag one though.....

Look at it this way Fox, you're just providing me with my biggest challenge so far in hunting - to help you bag a sika! Well, maybe baby steps first, we'll get you to see one to start with.

Forgot to mention....when big fox heard me shoot mine he asked me to drag it out into the field so he could see a sika from his stand. HAHAHAHAHA! You'll get one sooner or later. Took me at least 10 whitetail hunts to see my first & after that it was much easier, at least to see them.
By the way, they asked about potential interest in waterfowl & turkey hunts at blackwater when we filled out our permits this summer.

That's been talked about for a few years now, was held up by a HSUS lawsuit, but with the new manager at Blackwater all in place now it looks maybe it'll happen this next season. Alan did say the permit apps would be very different for next year, so keep your fingers crossed. I still think the best part about the sika hunt was when you two guys made Fox drag out your sika deer on his cart! He just looked so happy doing that.

let's get something straight, i was not made to do a dang thing. i offered to help because how would it be if i just went back to the truck and said get it yourself??? figured if nothing else i could see one up close, i did help you out to OSPREY, by picking up your missed shots... I can say i did not even pull the trigger and may not have seen anything but i did not miss either, TWICE..... tell me how it is the guns fault again............

Fox, I have been going a few times a year for three years. Out of 10+ trips I just got my first one this last trip. I would set up near The Deer Hunter and shoot the sika deer that are magnetically attracted to him. He has a sika four leaf clover shoved up his a$$.

I went tonight and never saw a sika, and closest bugle was two miles away. Hmmm, one day sika hunting with Fox then I see nothing. Where do you keep all the mojo you steal Fox?!?!

Yeah, but I'm beginning to think my misses were less about running deer and unfamiliarity with the gun and more about your proximity!

Another day, no sika. Spent most of the day walking marsh, learning some new spots, but some didn't pan out and some spots that looked good we just didn't come across them. I'm getting pretty excited at some weather reports of snow flurries for next week though!!
