My friend and I are doing a guided rifle hunt for sika. We are using Ransome's retreats guide service. Anyone ever use them? I have hunted black water with a bow for sika and saw some nice ones but no luck.

I havn't ever heard of them. Let me know how it goes, I know a lot of guys who would be interested in a good sika outfitter.

You guys should try Ciekot's guide service. I think he posts on here under the name "Osprey" ;D

well if his guide service for Sika's is as good as it was for turkeys then I wouldn't recommend his (OSPREY"S) service at all.... We shall see in exactly 12 days.. i should know more then...

Well, let's just say there are two levels of hunts. One is free, which Fox got, and you get what you pay for. The upper level nobody could afford - at least not anybody I'd take!

Osprey says he been busy keeping the sika deer fed that he has chained to a tree. Wouldn't tell me what it is chained up for though.

I have hunted with Rich Ransome earlier this year. He had a lot of deer but I had no shots. I had a big 6pt stag under the tree I was hunting in while I was on my way into the woods for the evening hunt (2:30ish). He has great accommodations. You should have a great time.

I know Percy Ransome from Ramsome's Chesapeakes Retreats. He has some awesome sika deer hunting property. The video on this site of all the sika deer in the field at one time (several stags) was taken on some of his property. Has an awesome lodge too. Great choice!!

the trip was great. I didn't get one but I saw more than I thought I would. Had so many close calls with sika in my crosshairs but never got shot off. My buddy got a spike and a hind. I highly recommend Ransome's. I saw two trophy stags fighting about 400 yards from me. It was an awesome thing to see.
