The Oaks are in full swing right NOW! Forget the crop fields unless you know there is a nice buck coming to and from it. A good idea would be to hunt the oaks in the evening. You will see mostly does and fawns coming at first. The big boys are waiting-out just a little longer, so hunt a little further away from the main oak area to have a better chance at geting a nice buck durring shooting light. Good Luck!!

Cold front is pushing thru. Next few days should be interesting. Oaks are where its at. Your better off hunting a woods with a few oak clutters than a forrest full of oaks. That way you limit the choices of where the deer will go for that delicious acorn. White oaks are preferred over red oaks. Reds are more bitter. To tell which is which, remember that white oak leaves are rounded and red oaks leaves are pointy. Pic in post one is red oak.

Another way to distinguish the white oaks from the reds is the white oak acorns are much larger than the more bitter red oaks.
