Iwas having terrible problems awhile back with kids (and adults) on 4wheelers. Replaced a bunch of 16', 1X6" horse fencing boards.Somehow they had a lot of extra nails in them, and somehow they got scattered around ,and somehow leaves blew all over them. Somehow, folks stopped tresspassing. ;D

Sounds like your boards from Mechanicsville may be migrating to Nanjemoy ;D. I hate to be like that but our property is posted excessively and they just ride right past the signs.

Some people feel like they OWN where ever they decide to ride. I have had a few problems in the past but once I caught up to the people, explain im not trying to be a jerk but, I hunt this land and put a lot of time and effort in. You ride and mess that up. That has worked for me. Boards with a few nails should also do the trick. Or lease your land for them to ride on. $5000 a year will cover it, see how much they really want to ride there.

Believe me,I hated to be like that as well, but it was getting that BAD! Had kids ripping around while we were in our stands. One flipped off my wife while she was hunting. I've caught a few. Some stop, and say "We didn't think anyone owned this land" or "we're lost".They seem to get lost everyday after school let out. Had a kid on a dirt bike, another kid on a ATV and their father come thru.Repeatedly. I ran back and set in the wood edge.Father saw me and is screaming at kid to "GO".I lunged at the kid on the bike from just a few yards,he got startled and stalled it,as I grabbed the bars. Dear old Dad starts telling me they're lost, thought it was "Bob's" place, and a whole string of other lame excuses. "Then why'd you tell the boy to GO?" I asked. My favorite was the Mom,Dad,Sis ,and little Bro all on new 4 wheelers. I waved them down and they stopped. Very nice and polite.Right out of one of the Yamaha commercials.Told them they were on private property. They said they didn't have any place to ride."Hmm.Maybe you shouldn't have bought the bikes then?" I've got plenty of places to ride and DON'T have one! My youngest brother caught a kid on his place over near Denton. He impounded the 4wheeler and told the boy to come back with hid father. And the law. Kid came back with Dad,but no law. By then, it was locked in a 20' sea container. After some threats and counter PROMISES, they came back with the law. I wonder what would have happened if he just said "what 4 wheeler?" ;D

I've had the conversations with the guys behind our property who were riding on our trails. They admitted they have been riding on our place but not during hunting season and they said they are not the only ones who ride in there. I had to explain that we didn't want any riding at any time of the year and that we don't maintain our trails for public use. I guess they thought we kept our trails clear for them to use?? My neighbor to the east and I have had enough of the trespassing. I think it's time to flatten some tires and see how much trespassing they do when it starts costing them some $$ to replace tires.

your right, people are so careless.. start running nails in their tires and they will find a "SAFER" place to ride
