The force is strong - add two more hinds to my total! Spent a few hours walking state marsh today, had the kayak stuffed full on the way out. I'm a Jedi with the buckshotsabre.

Tried it again one day this weekend for the late gun season. Walked marsh for 5 hours, jumped four, all hinds, all in range, passed all hoping for a stag but never did find one. Still a fun day but not easy hunting, that's for sure. I think I'm starting to notice the accumulation of years...

Luke Marshwalker struck again for 2016! Two short mornings walking marsh after paddling in via kayak, each day came out with a hind. First day jumped a small one, 5 yard shot, second day they came across the marsh on their own straight to me, popped the big hind when she stuck her head over the rushes at 20 yards. Hoping to run into the big boy in the late weekend...
May even get crazy and try it with the flintlock next week!!

I tried it once with the flintlock during MZ season. Walked all day, jumped six (all would have been killable with the 870 and buckshot), all hinds, took one shot and missed. Difficult little buggers to hit with a flinter while bounding sideways through the reeds!
Back at it this weekend for late shotgun...

Still a mystery on where those stags go.

I was hunting my property for whitetail and this Japanese Sika walked out randomly, never seen it or any Sika before. Do any of y'all know what this deer scores?

JTD, you are a very lucky man. Not sure what your sika stag scores but that is a stud. That is a trophy sika of a lifetime and very impressive . Sure some of the other guys will chime in if they see your pic. Congrats!!

That's a hog of a sika, but where are you? Which state I mean? Antlers look way bigger than our sika here in Maryland, several different subspecies other places.
