Hey fellas been a few years since I been over for the shotgun quota hunt. Do you still have to get your spot ahead of time or is it 1st come 1st serve?? I got Area B2/B3 for Dec 1. Thanks in advance for any help and good luck to all!!

They changed it last year, no more assigned stand sites in that section, can go where you want. Or you can hang a stand ahead of time on a scout day, couple of us were down last week and did that. Only one more scout day left, Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Hanging a stand does not guarantee you a spot correct Osprey? You still need to be in there "first come first serve" and HOPE the other hunters oblige.. Good luck over there Robbie. That is a good area...

Well, it guarantees you a spot, just not that you'll have it to yourself!

I didn't come home with any, but I proved my guiding skills for sika virgins again. My buddy Snake had never killed one, put a hind and this nice stag in front of him, he was really excited. Hot, tiring day though, by the time we got done and drug the deer, gear and ourselves out of the woods it was 2pm, we were both dehydrated and I was getting leg cramps so bad I could hardly walk. Hope you guys get into 'em on Friday!

WOW!! Congrats to you and your friend Osprey, that is a great first stag and a yummy hind. I am still after my elusive 6 pt stag and hope one day luck will find it's way to me with a trophy stag.

Frank will probably have to drag yours, because I figure you'll be dragging out 3 sika and a few whitetails for Art!

The hunt was a bit lack luster for me.. Frank had a good day as did his dad. I was skunked in the morning and was busted by a few hinds that came in on my down wind side in the evening out of buckshot range.. I think I may have to switch to the slug gun next year to prevent that from happening.. Getting the deer out of the marsh Frank shot was an adventure and I thank the fact that he did not record it as we probably looked like a couple amateurs..

I enjoyed my hunt and watching BIG FOX wade through the small canal in the marsh with my 2 deer in his sled that evening. Pretty thankful that canal was there actually because it probably saved us an hour or more.
Thanks again fox for dragging them out for me.

Anyone know where I can get 3.5 inch buckshot on the western shore, or between the western shore & Cambridge tomorrow?

I'll bring what I got tonight if you can meet me somewhere between my house and yours.. I can always get more before next year and I think I have a bunch of 3 inch stuff too as backup

I've been looking for 3.5" myself and haven't been finding much lately. I'm guessing you guys got the non-quota days??
