Gung is full of it. I have only had the happen ONCE and I was in a smaller than I should have been pine tree in a 40 MPH wind. I had an accuse and still killed the dark shaggy 6 point stag.. Mike has obviously hit his head on another counter top...

Congrats Jbird and Jenna, too, great buck!
Fox, you forget you were shooting OO buckshot. I heard three shots, x 12 pellets each, to my way of thinking that's 35 misses and one hit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A friend of mine had asked me several weeks ago if I could take his son, Logan, out to one of my properties on youth shotgun. He had to go out of town so I told him that I could get his son out. Turned out that his trip was cancelled and he was able to go so I got a crossbow in his hands and told him that I insisted that he hunt this day as he works so much and does not get a chance to get out. With reservation he submitted and almost had a chance at a great buck. Meanwhile, his son and I sat in a blind and saw a deer really early (think it was a nice buck) but it was not very good light as it was just after legal shooting time. around 830 we had a doe come in down wind and she blew at us. She then got daring and cirlcled around to our front at 20 yds but we had no shot. She blew at us again and ran out. At 11:21 I hear a snap to the think side of the blind. I only had a sliver of the windo opened but I kept looking out as Logan watched the front. I suddenly saw movement ant told Logan to stand and turn around. As he did I saw Antlers. I told him to get the barrel out the window and post up on the back of the chair. He did so and I told him to find a shooting lane in front of the deer and squeeze the trigger when he saw the front shoulder. The deer started moving forward and I could see that the deer was getting ready to walk through the lane that Logan was aiming for. Right before the deer got there it picked up its pace for some reason and Logan squeezed the trigger. After the smoke cleared I grabbed the muzzleloader and reloaded. Logan yelled, "He is down!!!" I looked up and saw the deer on the ground but it was still moving. We got out and I handed him the gun as wel walked closer. I could quickly tell that it was a center spine shot. Logan posted up on a tree and ripped another shot through its lungs and down he went! This is the heaviest 6pt I have ever seen. Its neck was the thickest I have ever seen on a deer as well. Needless to say, the kid was super excited and got the job done on his first ever buck!

My 00 buck, and I'm sure the 00 buck that fox uses has 18 pellets per shell,...........
18 x4 72
That would mean 71 misses and one hit!!! ;D ;D ;D
That sure doesn't sound all that great to me.
