Got some greens planted on Saturday right before the rain. Timing couldn't have been better. They're already sprouted. With the cool weather we've been having this summer, I'm thinking this fall's crop will be awesome!

All my turnips/radishes/rape are looking good and the deer are already hitting them hard, but the oats/buckwheat I planted didn't do much. Partly the dry weather, partly all the dang turkeys scratching up the seed and eating it! Had a big flock out feeding every time I've been back there to check on it. Since they were calling for rain Saturday, Sunday and Monday I worked up and replanted a few spots with either millet or turnips. Of course I got zero rain the whole weekend, only moisture that fell on the ground was my sweat. I hate weathermen...

We put in oats, rape, khale & turnips in on Sunday. Also did some over seeding with some red & white clover.

Nothing more than a sprinkle in the forecast through next week. It better turn back on before November or I won't have any water in my duck/goose impoundments, either! On the plus side, though, no tropical storms in sight and the skeeters have already dropped off to nothing - could be a fine sika season if that keeps up!!

most of my plot was attacked by turkeys that ate all the seed... but it was just a little one. on a side note, i know where i'll be sitting in april now ;-)
