Well did my first teaching gig for Hunters Safety this weekend. I think it went pretty well. Everyone in the class passed and the youngest participant was 7 years old. Seemed very enthusiastic about hunting in the future.
I think I got my youth day plans for the kids and my son's buddy all lined up to hunt. My sons friend is 11 and had never taken hunters safety before so I made a deal with his mother that if he took the class I would do my part and get him out hunting. Kid is a really good kid and his dad is a class A A$$hole... It is too bad. But I am going to try and get him out with my boys on Youth Day. Should be a great weekend. I just hope the weather and more importantly the birds show up... How about this snow in SPRING...

You did a great job teaching the class Andy! I really enjoyed it and hope to be accepted as a member of your team. I am filling out the paper work this week. I got my youth plans set up as well. I am taking a 7th grader who's dad lives in Florida. I am hoping on a quick hunt Saturday so I can get stuff done at the house later. BIG HONEY DO LIST! Good luck to everyone and I hope to see a lot of pictures and stories on here!!

It was a great class and I enjoy teaching kids and passing on the hunting tradition. It was allot of fun seeing Brett at the class and talking hunting with him and many new friends. Believe it or not Andy is a natural when it comes to instructing, maybe it's because he never shuts up in real life but seriously great job Big Fox!! I am absolutely fired up for the spring turkey youth hunt in Maryland and will be doing three youth hunts in three different states this year.

I'm excited that I'll be in the midwest hunting that weekend, but bummed that I'll be missing youth day here. I think this will be the first youth turkey hunt I haven't gotten a kid out after birds. Good luck to everybody that gets out!

If I shave and cut my hair I get confused for one all the time.... ;-)
I've been seeing quite a few birds. Saw two seperate flocks of 20 and 8 respectively last week. Yesterday on my way to work, a lone jake went running across Turkey Hill road by the dog park. lol! I guess the name is true.. I stopped the car and tried by box call on him but he was bookin it.
Looks to be a good season coming up! I'm gettin pumped!

Went to the property this morning that I'll be hunting opening day. Heard three different birds and saw a hen pitch off the roost. I am really excited about opening day cause I will be hunting with my bow! Good luck to everyone and I hope to read some great stories and see some pictures!
