I haven"t tryed to find sheds over in Dor. before , so I was hopeing someone could tell me if this about the right time to start looking ?

I've seen sika hard horned in turkey season, so still early. Also seen them in velvet at the same time, they are a wierd critter.

Thanks ! It's time for me to start walking the marsh anyway , still trying to learn and the frag is easyer to get into at this time . Where do you have more luck finding sheds , high ground or the frag ?

High ground for me. Only found a couple and most were accidental while turkey scouting. I would think that there are more in the frag, but they must be near impossible to spot in there.

All the walking I've done in sika land I've only found one shed, a nice 3 point side, and that was in a field egde on a scouting day at Blackwater in the fall and killed the same stag a few weeks later. I'm sure there are way more in the marsh, but they sink quick. Found far more skulls and skeletons than antlers on the marsh.
The guys that really find sika sheds get them near feeders where they congregate.
