Who all is getting out?
It's been an adventure so far here. First a wayward Fox followed me home and snored on my sofa the night before it opened. Then I watched a fella on here that I often kid about hitting sika take TWO shots - with buckshot no less - to finish off a half dead hind ten feet from him in the marsh. And now I can hardly move after a few miles of marsh walking and slogging a canoe through low tide mud flats. But a hind each for Bartman and I today, so it was still a pretty good day. ;D

Sounds like a good meat hunt ! I did get up and I almost got dressed . Was really thinking hard about going . Think I'm too old for the cold .

Congrats!! on the sika and I hope next year to find a place to get after some myself. Oh and I'm sure that Fox was loud and smelly too.

Last night I was also hearing of 3 big stags in a shooting road and a gun that went click. I believe the exact quote was "I died a little inside." Wonder who that could have been??

Oh no you don't. If you remember I was the one who wanted to walk the 3/4 mile across the marsh and drag the hinds back to the boat in hopes of jumping a biggun, YOU had to take the canoe around. That pic was after the first mudflat we had to slog through, before the second mud flat we had to slog through because of your bright idea!

Hunted in Cambridge on Friday and scored on a button head sika at about 730am.. about 930 or so WW3 went off and I looked to my right to see 3 stags jump out in the road. I threw the 30.06 up, picked out the one I had the best shot at. squeezed the trigger and CLICK!!!! In my haste to reload after locating the first deer in the early morning I did not seat thr bolt all the way forward. I watch as 3 Stags ventured away out of site and I wanted to VOMIT.. not a good time.. I got down about 1030am took care of my first deer and was ready to pack up and head home when one of the guys says "there are 3 deer standing in the road down there" we grabbed our rifles and headed down to investigate and try for a shot.. Well the fella I was with decided to crank one off at 400 yards and missed. When we went down to see if he got lucky I see the 3 deer standing in the woods about 200 yards.. we chased them back and forth between clear cuts before they stop for a second and I was able to mash one of them. Turned out to be whitetail and a nice cap off for the season.. Bitter swwet about the stag but that just means he will be around next year bigger and better...

We drove deer all day Saturday! I saw over 30 deer and never fired a shot. But the carnage was ugly for the other guys!!!!!
