FINALLY! Caught two last night, one 17" and one 18.5", my first legal redfish!!! I could actually have a hard time getting in the woods for October with these things around, fun, fun, fun.

Wow - really grew up quick. What would be really cool is if the stick around for a few years & get really big. ;D

Frank, DNR keeps telling us they won't come back next year, but they had no clue where they came from this year and said they wouldn't reach legal this year either, so take that for what it's worth. Some of the things I"ve read about them say they migrate south in the winter, but that they'll keep coming back for up to five years before they move permanently to coastal/inshore habitats. At least there's hope. You can bet I'll be flogging the river with twister tails and shad next June to find out!! They'd be 20-25" fish next summer, if that happens I may have to give up work in the summers, too... Should be here into November this year if we're lucky, get out there and hook 'em up!

Well I sure do hope they come back! I've always thought that the bay is an awful large body of water for as few species as it holds, at least the northern portion/potomac river.
