I had what I would call a good year . My first year hunting Dorchester . Got to see a few stags , took one with ml not big but nice. I would just like to know if this was a good year , average or a not so good year for sika ?

I'd say it was a different year. Sika never seem to do the same things twice, so it's hard to tell, but I think the warm weather had an effect on them. I didn't get after them as much as some years but did kill two hinds and saw some nice stags. Next year, as always, I'm hoping for the sika hunters holy grail - a dry late summer/fall with no big storm tides, plus cool weather, which equals no bugs!!!!!!!!! Last fall was one of the worst I've seen, and that's coming from somebody that works Mosquito Control all summer.

Congrats on the stag. I only sika hunted one day this year... Was busy moving/painting. I got 2 of those little buggers though...Ate some last night actually. ;D ;D ;D ;D I saw a good number of sika that day & got two, so I'd call it a GREAT year. Since I only went the one day, I don't have much to compare it to, but sometimes you get lucky.

I had a great year and the worst year of my life all at the same time. Got a nice stag during the early bow season and then got booted of my lease for taking a kid hunting on youth day. Going to be a long time before I hunt sika again thanks to a few greedy a-hole club members.

Yeah, but it's just the hunting gods taking pity on him for the screaming babies and hormonal wife at home!
