Well with 75 degree weather and nocturnal deer i figured id run trotlines for catfish today.... so slept in and set my lines let them sit for 45 minutes and made my first run got to the middle wouldnt ya know it stuck on a damn stump...... well tugging the stump started coming to the surface. when i figured out what it was grabbed my 30-30 and putone in the head 75 lb aligator snapper.. half hour later got the other 40 lber.... both males and both in the freezer.. now just gotta preserve the shells..... this might be the reason i only caught 2 damn catfish... Good thing i like turtle soup.. honestly the 75 lbers head is as big as mine is... just to think these are the last things in the world i worried about as a kid swimming in this same creek..

Good lord! Remind me not to go swimming in that creek. That is awesome though... That'll be a lot of soup!
Look up the turtle man on YouTube...he catches them by standing on em. Lol

Nice catch! Saw a pic of a 70# common snapper that was weighed over in Dorchester and it didn't look near that big.
LOL, I was getting ready to BEG for a skull for my collection until I seen you gave them a 150gr headache!
