so i picked up a used T/C renegade .50 cal this past week. I noticed on the hammer part that cups over the nipple a little triangular piece of metal missing. The shop owner said it was normal to prevent cap flare out, but it looked odd to me. Looked like it had cracked back in the day or something. does that seem normal? this thing was a cheap deal with a tru-glo site. He also had another one (exact same) with iron sights. If this is a broke hammer I might try and trade it back in for the other one, but I emailed Thompson to see what they say. picture is attached. Attachments:

I just looked at my Renegade, it has a solid hammer, but both hammers on my SXS Pedersoli have the notches. Go figure...
