I have about 1 acre of semi shady area I want to plant something in the spring that will be there all year what would anybody reccomend to plant in an area that gets partial sun due to white and red oaks???

Clover seems to grown every where and it will last all year for sure. I have two spots planted. The one doesn't get as much sun and it's not as thick and tall as the other spot but it's there.

I'll agree, when in doubt plant clover, it grows almost anyplace.

Don`t forget lime. We fertilized the heck out of our patch but the clover couldn`t utilize it until we applied lime. It has worked well ever since. We use the Imperial Whitetail Clover ,it is a little more expensive but we have to compete with soybeans ,corn, and two plus neighbors who have hay pastures and wanted something different. I know we should soil test but we always run out of time. For added fun put a trail cam up.Good luck.

Lime and fertilizer aint a problem it is where i had my cows and have some pasture grass there that has been taken care of but just not good enough to keep the deer in.... been looking at a couple shady mixes maybe Ill do half in a mix and half in clover...
