Our family would like to wish everyone a safe Merry Christmas and a successful New Year ! If everyone can take a small amount of time to help promote our sport it will help save hunting and shooting for our kids and grand kids. Whether its by taking a kid hunting ,fishing , or helping them to participate in a local program .Local examples are 4-H Shotgun or Rifle Club ,JROTC Air Rifle Group , Middle School Archery or telling that neighbor kid what a great deer that doe or forkhorn is since they`ll remember that first one forever. It also doesn`t hurt to drop the neighbor`s a package of ground venison or oysters , in summer vegetables or crabs and fish. They`ll remember it came from that fella down the street who hunts, fishes, etc even though they may not know your name. So once again Merry Christmas , Ed & family

Back at you Ed, and to all others!
I haven't had near as much "me time" since getting so involved with getting kids outdoors (mine and others) and into the shooting sports, etc, but it is much more rewarding!
Big thanks to all those who take the time to pass it on!

With everything you guys are going through with the passing of your son Charlie I know I would like to extend my hand to you all and say I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I cannot even begin to fathom what your family is going through with your loss and I hope that the holidays and this time of year will not be a constant reminder of that horrible accident last week. I sincerely hope that Charlie will Rest In Peace and I hope your family is able to get through this difficult time and please let us at the forum know if there is anything you need from us as I know the brothers and sisters on this site would be more than happy to help you all in this trying time.

Big Fox and everyone, We would like to first thank everyone for such tremendous support. From Charlie's close friend that informed us of the search to the Indian Head Police & Fire Depts, The Md DNR ,US Coast Guard ,Va Marine Police ,Potomac Heights Vol. Fire Dept and the brave folks at Charles County Dive Rescue everyone put their lives to the side to help ours. The wonderful thing about living in Southern Maryland is the people . Meeting Charlie's friends and coworkers was quite an experience. Seeing tough outdoor guys break a tear while telling you about a wood duck hunt, one friend told us Charlie helped him get his first duck, to the friend that needed to borrow a saw after the hurricane to find out that Charlie showed up to cut the tree out of their yard. At his Life Celebration we brought some of his gear and mounts to help make the tragedy easier on us. A slide show was helpful to show how important his chocolate lab Remi was in his life. His friends did a send off at the cemetery that included duck, turkey and goose calling with a shotgun salute. A fitting send off to a true outdoors-man. Please everyone continue to hunt , fish, crab and enjoy the outdoors but be careful and always tell some one your game plan. This is not to say a freak occurrence could turn any adventure into a nightmare. Please enjoy the holidays and involve your family and friends in your outdoor pursuits. Love , Ed,Sharon,Doug,Steven, Rie Burroughs and family
