Talked to Big Fox this afternoon, sounds like the Buckwild boys have been on the sika this weekend! Sounds like Buckmaster and Fox both had stag encounters - and ONE of them got the job done! ;D
But just Fox's presence in Dorchester ruined my mojo today, only saw a fox this morning while sika hunting, although I heard plenty of distant bugles.

Sweet, I had 2 stag encounters, one too far and the other caught me trying to get down at 9:50. Stay in those stands late! I knew this, but still got caught being lazy.

The Deer Hunter and I went down and stayed at a buddies place on Frtiday night. Got up early and made it to the stand about 45 minutes before light.. Got settled in and when the sun came up enough to see I pulled out he Ole "SIKA SEDUCER" and gave 3 bugles.. not long maybe 2 minutes and I hear 2 bugles not far from me, I ASSUMED it was the Deer Hutner responding little did I know the morning was about to get crazy.. About 15 minutes past and I look over just in time to see a monster 6 point stag break through the Phrag and as if he was on a rope start RUNNING my way.. After i got to grips with what was happening I got up and grab my bow and range finder.. The stag was skirting the tall grass and I got to watch him come from 150 yards away to stop dead in front of me broadside at 30 yards. Only problem was there was a large dead tree in my shooting lane and all i could see was his head and hind 1/4's.. I needed one more step and I would have a shot, already at full draw.. next thing I know he "JUST" happens to look to his right and spots me, turns inside out and as fast as he showed up I got to watch him disappear into the Phrag... What a morning it was AWESOME.... hopefully he is still hanging around next Friday when I have my Thompson Center OMEGA and he will be toast... it was great and though we didn't come home with anything we did run into the BuckWild boys on there Sika hunt and a couple of the fellas scored on Sika.. but that is for them to share.. Good luck everyone..

Man Fox, I was hoping it was you that got one. Look at the brightside, you now change the quote under your avatar to a dime. Tom, nice meeting you guys as well. Small world sometimes. I'll try and stop by Thurs. if I'm not too tired, going to be a long day.

Fox, now you know why we call them Devil Deer! The big ones can drive you nuts, they seem to have an uncanny 6th sense sometimes.

It fun even if you don't get a shot off like us Big Fox.Every whitetail hunter need to experience at least one sika rut hunt in there lifetime.99.9 will get hook and have to come back.On a different note we was in our stand about 1/2 hour before light and seen 3 shooting stars. The air or lights must be so bad around here because I never see them much.Sika hunting I have seen many dozens over there over the years.

Finally, after years of hunting sika deer I connected with a beautiful 6 point stag. My first sika every and worth the wait! left the house around 1:30am headed to the Shore. I had sika all over me by 6:45am, used the SIKA SEDUCER and heard crashing from about 100 yards out and heading my way. I was falling apart, I had no idea what was heading my way but I figured it was going to be big. All of a sudden I see a spike, he came right into the call. As much as I wanted to take my first sika I let him pass by in hopes of shooting a hind or something bigger. Not 10min later I hear the unforgettable "Growl" and then I see "him." The six came in with the spike I had passed and was growling like crazy, it's was amazing! I was presented with a broadside shot at 35 yards and let one rip right over his back!............. I had to quickly re-group and was able to make a second shot at 38 yards hitting him perfect and dropping him within 20 yards. What an awesome hunt, Andy I know how you must have felt with that big stag coming in on you and having it so close. Hang in there...you are due a sika by now. I'll see if we can work on a January sika hunt. Now it's on to whitetails!!!!!!!!!

Great stag! That is awesome. I can see a lot of trips to the shore in your future. Must have been a great feeling. Tom, mornings when I duck hunt down here I usually sit in the boat and stare at the sky on the way out. I'll usually see about 10 shooting stars.

Man, that is AWESOME! Now, I REALLY feel bad: supposed to be at Assateague with my muzzleloader first half of this week, but not looking like I'll make it this year.
My Dad and younger brother were crabbing/fishing at a friend's place down below Crapo Friday and Sat and said they heard a bunch bugling and saw a fair number of them moving around. Anyway, congrats Gio!

Alright Gio, way to go! How's it feel to be a member of the certified sika killers club? I'm heading out this evening and tomorrow morning, but I'm more excited about BP later this week. Got the silver flintlock leaning next to the TV, can't wait to blow smoke at one with that.

Nope, but I'm sure he'll be dragging one out for me on Friday. I saw 1 sika this weekend, but at a distant 70 yards. Heard bugles everywhere, but not quite close enough to me.

Buckmasters got the memory card, but I scored on one Saturday morning. Gio was in the stand with me filming as a spike took an arrow and ran twenty yards. I saw about 12 deer total over the two days. I can not wait to go back although I dont know when. I have a cooler of meat that will taste ohhh so good. Maybe buckmaster can put up some pics. We did get the shot on the spike on film but we didnt get to much good footage afterwards.
