guys, theres been some arguments about the sma archery event not giving the prizes out to the correct winners, and giving them to members only. i didnt particpate, or even see it... but just relying the information. There are 2 threads on marylandwhitetail.com in the campfire section about it...
good event in my eyes though, glad the weather worked out

I thought the event was awesome.. seems like alot more vendors there this year.. everybody seemed real happy with the turnout.. If the "RUMORS" aboutthe 3-D shoot are true then that is a shame to put a bad mark on a great event, along with stuff getting stolen as I have heard from various people. that is to bad, be on the look out for archery shooters with some new targets i guess and contact the police if you find out who stole the stuff. but for the 3-D shoot if SMA really did give out the prizes to members only than that is a REAL shame, there are rumors of alot of the raffle prizes going to family members of staff and I just have a real hard time believing that BUCKWILD would have anythign to do with something like that.. Great event once again guys and gals... was a blast..

I don't know anything about all these rumors, and innuendo of BS, but I do know me and mine had a good time. Ran into a bunch of old friends and a few folks from here. Planned on making it back over on Sunday as well, but got jammed up.
I DO KNOW you all need a BIG sign for the seminar rooms, as well as some directional arrows, lie the kids archery folks had. Can't count how many folks were wandering around, asking for it.

hey guys the targets were returned the day they were stolen it was young kids and one of them got cold feet and told on all the culprits and they had the targets back that day, i shot in the event and got second place in the hunter class for the trophy and for the prizes they combined the open class and the hunter class and gave the prizes away i came in fifth overall for both classes. it seemed like there were some members in the top which would be expected because im sure they shoot 3d targets often and are very familiar with the 10 rings on the targets but as far as fairness i think it was an awesome event and look forward to shooting it again.

Hey guys, this is the president of Southern Maryland archers. The rumors that are out there are UN true yes there was a mistake made and we are trying to get it corrected. To have my name and my clubs name drug though the mud and be called lier's and cheats is wrong no member of SMA was allowed to shoot that shoot just for that reason so we would not be accused of favoritism. They were aloud to shoot for just the fun no prizes or awards and I put that out in our meeting last month The three cards where miss placed and there scores where not entered we are doing our best to get this thing worked out. we did all we could do that day we were shock and confused to say the least we returned the entry fees and offered every prize we had left but they wanted nothing to do with it but they did take there money back my treasurer gave it back to them on the spot. we will make this right to the best of our ability all the prizes were donated and we are working to get some more for them we hope? But these attacks if what was said on some of these forums last night is true it that they contacted our sponcers and said we cheated them will make it nearly imposable to make it right. But we will so please give us a chance it may take a bit but we are doing everything we can at this point to fix it. In Hind sight If we do it again there will be a new system in place so this kind of mistake will not happen again. Thanks for your attention to this matter Michael D. Thanks for addressing this issue Mr. Cassidy. I have read the post that was left on another website and the gentleman forgot to mention that he got his money back or at least i don't remember seeing that part. I figured that it was just a misunderstanding but the fellow in question seems to be a little bitter. All you can do is make your best effort. Good luck to all involed and lets try to keep cool heads.
