it depends on where your crabbing. i crab the pax and wont start for another 3 weeks or so depending on the weather and how warm it gets and stays. the rain should help. lets just hope it sticks aroudn through the summer to keep the salinity levels at a good level.

Went out wed morning for about two hours. Caught about three dozen and probably could have gotten more but was tired of getting beat to death by the wind. Didn't have too many throwbacks and all were heavy. The temps are warming up and so are the crabs. Time to get out there

Think I'm heading out on Saturday. Any suggestions on location/depth? You don't have to give out your spot but anything would be appreciated. ;D

Thanks cause I was going to try deep. I would have thought they were still hiding since the water isn't so warm yet.

I'd say anywhere from 5-15 ft. and you should do pretty good. We didnt have much luck any deeper than that.

the pax is slow, but steady right now. good if you can find the crabs but theyre scattered everywhere. ive been out once and got half a bushel and a buddy of mine got almost a bushel in the am.. so its picking up a little. give it about a week and its game on.

Caught just under a bushel of dark black crabs on Friday. All the ones I caught were really shallow.
