Hey guys, For anyone who hasn't read any of my posts I am new to the site, you can read about me and my Dad in the "About yourself" section. ;D Check out the snakehead my dad David caught this weekend! It was about 4lbs, he caught it in the Mattawoman Creek area in charles county. He went and told a DNR officer and he told him just to make sure he kills it. It was a female and her belly was full of thousands of eggs! Eww.

Yup, he was bass fishing. Not sure what kind of lure he was using and what not. I can find out though. I think he was pretty startled when he pulled that ugly thing out of the water. lol

Killifish account for most of their diet here, but they'll eat frogs, crawfish, and any other fish they can catch. And they are tasty: sort of like walleye. Uncle Buck's batter and drop in HOT oil!

Hey guys, I just talked to my Dad and he was bass fishing with a spinner bait. He was casting near a beaver dam when he caught the thing. I told him you said they are good eating lol maybe if he catches another one he'll fry it up!

I can't wait to put an arrow through a big fat snakehead. If I shoot one, or hook one, I'm considering getting it mounted. Cool looking fish for sure.

thanks dave. interesting fact: a few of my buddies commercial fish here locally. Everyone says and thinks the snakehead is the baddest meanest fish in our waters now (and they may be right), but when a net was pulled, and giant catfish (around 40 lbs.) burped up a 12 in. long snakehead! explain that one? lol also, a few have been caught around my way on the piscataway. ive been bass fishing around there hoping to hook up with one. a true trophy if you ask me. Anyone else have a good snakehead story? Check it out - www.snakeheadproshop.com/snakehead_tournaments.asp
