Here's one for you. Sika. 10 ga Blackpowder. Dorchester is a buckshot county. I know. Hunted the Church Creek area alot in the 70s. MiltonM's property. Was never happy with buckshot in my limited experience, but I can see its advantages in the marsh. Thanks! Now I've got to try to work up some BP loads! Like I don't have enough to keep me busy.

Went to another shoot with those fellas today. Didn't take my gun to shoot, just went to look at guns and do some brain pickin'. Makes a difference having spent the past 3-4 weeks on websites looking at styles and locks and info and such. This shoot was cross-sticks, shooting sitting using crossed sticks as a rest, 70 yards at paper buffalo targets - some pretty good shooting! Was at their home range, too, pretty place. And I've got directions to the group that meets every Wednesday night to build longrifles - time to sit in, watch and soak up all the info I can.

If you have not bought a rifle yet stop and see Ron Griffie first. He just got out of the hospital and still has rifles to sell from a private collection. Many of them he made.... Some I made. JW

Fun to look back at this thread! Pete, we've got a shoot this Sunday, March 9, a woods walk shoot where you'll need to carry everything with you in bag and horn. Shoot starts at 10am, although most of us are there a bit earlier. Try the VP, Mike Snyder, at 410-924-9793. Club is up toward Ingleside, a dirt lane just off Hecht Rd. If you're on Hecht Rd and can't find it, roll down your window and listen for the Boom!
