I have had just about as hard of a time finding the perfect broadhead as I have had finding my favorite beer. I have killed deer with Muzzy's, and some other cheap fixed blade that I had when I was 14. I killed a doe and a buck one year with the Pucket Blood Trailer's. They were actually pretty good, a little small with some weak/thin blades, and hard to find lately. Then I used Rocket's Steal Head 100. One afternoon, I shot a nice half rack at 20yds with the steal head. I had a perfect double lung shot but the small hole it created caused tracking to be extremely difficult. That deer ran for 200 yds before bleeding well enough to track without crawling. When I finally found him, he barely had any blood coming from the exit wound. I later shot a doe that ran about 40yds before piling up, but again, no blood coming from the exit wound. Recently I switched to NAP Spitfire® XP ProSeries™ Broadheads. The cutting diameter on these is 1 1/2" compared to the 1 1/8" Rockets. Big improvement! Almost like tracking a deer that was struck with a slug! I have always used 100 gr three blades. I guess in the end, they all work with good shot placement. I might go back to the Muzzy's next year. They are cheaper than the mechanicals and just as effective!

Sideways , let me know how they work , I look at the slick tricks web site they look like a muzzy type constuction, were you put them together ,nice looking though. not to bad on price. (Never Hurts To Go First Class). My friend Clyde, A.K.A. Deep Pockets, shoots the Rage machanical with a 2 inch cutting diameter looks like you can stick your fist in the hole. he is a HARD CORE HUNTER, Clyde and Crutchfield are the only two guy's I know and have hunted with that could set up a deer stand in Wal-Mart parking lot on Black Friday and shoot a deer. I am thinking about going to the Rage , even though my G5's Kick ASS!!! Good Luck

I shoot Thunderheard 100 grain. They went on clearance at wal-mart three years ago and bought like ten packs. I'm down to my last three and next year am going for a whole new arrow/broadhead combination. I'm willing to try anything that other people have had good results with. Mechanicals have failed me in the past, so I'll stick to fixed blade.

Steel Force (Hellfire) 100 grain fixed 4 blade with 2 bleeder blades that are replaceable. I also like the Sabertooth 100 grain 3-blade fixed. Both are cut on contact with lifetime resharpening. I've shot two buck's with them, they leave a nasty exit hole. I've tried the Muzzy and think they are great as well I just get the Steel Force free from my brother in law.

Interesting post I would like some feedback on what everyone thinks is the best arrow. Anyone ever hear of Epsilon arrows? I am probably spelling the name wrong correct me if I am. My Brother in law when testing his arrow heads (Steelforce) used dozens of combinations in a controlled enviroment, they use all kinds of Broadheads/Arrows and the results came back that the Epsilon? was the fastest Arrow shot through all different brands of bows.

I use GoldTip arrows with a Muzzy 4-blade 90 grain on the tip. They have worked like a charm for me and I have never had any real problems with them. Never heard of the Epsilon arrows, so I don't have any input on those. Sorry

I use Muzzy fixed 3-blade 125gr ... the kind where you can unscrew the tip and switch out to practice blades easily.

Those Rocket Hammerheads are nasty! I was with a friend when he shot a buck in high in the hind quarter with one of those. I think the only thing that saved him was the cutting diameter of that broadhead. We retrieved the deer about four hours later.

Forgot to mention one fixed blade head. Folks this is the best fixed blade head on the market today. Slick Trick broadheads are a 4 blade head that fly like a field point and they are devastating.
