That does sound like what I have had. Thousands of little itty bitty ticks. Man I hate ticks.

I'm thinking it was probably ticks. I've had chiggers plenty of times and never seen one, they are just sooo small. When I've seen the bugs, and I've had 'em just like you describe, they were always small deer ticks (heard 'em called 'seed' ticks, but not sea, 'cause they look like tiny seeds). Probably walked through a bunch just after they hatched or nested or whatever they do, looks like thousands of little black spots on your legs??? If so you'll want to keep an eye out, deer ticks are the ones that spread Lyme's disease. Any bullseye shaped rashes from bites??

I only had Chiggers once, back 1985 I was deployed with the 82nd ABN to Ft Campbell for a couple of weeks. Spent the whole time in the field. When I got home I was itchin' like crazy, scratching to the point of bleeding. Then I remembered somewhere I read (I'm pretty sure it was F&S) steak tenderizer will soothe the itch. I forgot to remember that it only works before you've shredded your skin by scratching. Note to self, do not put high salt/spice content material on open wounds. Needless to say I forgot about the itch.

Got chiggers the week after the Expo, only thing I found that worked was ChiggerRX, it's a cream I found at WalMart. Stopped the itch and were gone in 3 days.

I know the feeling. I went Whitewater rafting w/ Mudduck, Big Fox. Old Hairy Head and Jay for Mudduck's brothers bachelor party in WV. Got chigs all over my back. i can't tell if it was sleeping in the campground or being further south and their coming out early: a little southern exposure

Trust me, I know all about chiggers!!! Get them every year early season hunting. They are chiggers. They are very small and they burrow into your skin and lay eggs (ewww...) Thats where the itching comes in. Sometimes I like the itch.... ;D Burrowing in your skin is an old wives tale. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiggers

I got the same thing last week! I had ticks. SMALL ones! Chiggers when I had them were red in color and VERY hard to see! What I had on me last week were ticks! Hundreds of them! I had them on my lower leg! I sprayed my pants so they got to my leg. My buddy sprayed his skin and they were on his pants! I got home and took a shower and still had them on me. My wife picked all of em off and I used my magnifying glass and it was def. a tick!!

Chiggers was first introduced to Maryland by members of Peta. It did not have the effect they thought it would. I get a few bites every year. I believe I transplant them all over. From the field to my truck to my house From the Eastern Shore to Charles County. This time of year I take steps to avoid them, but have always got some.Sideways I'm with you ChiggerRX is the best stuff yet.

Those little ticks have cost me several pair of socks and shoes and pants left in the woods. A little trick, I use clear tape to remove the ones that get onto me I don't notice. It takes them off quickley and effevtivley and they cant get off the tape once stuck. I had 15 on each foot last week from setting up a trail cam.
