I just read in my DNR booklet that came with my hunting license that you can hunt fallow deer in Maryland but I never seen a fallow deer in Maryland. I know that sika deer are on the eastern shores and that bear are in western Maryland but were are these fallow deer that they are talking about located? and has anyone ever gotten one or even seen one?

Never saw a wild one and don't know a whole lot about them. I've heard of them being shot in Dorchester, Caroline and Cecil counties.

Mainly game farm and pen raised escapees, not a lot of them, but a few around. Know of an area in Talbot that used to have a bunch, buddy rented a house near there and we watched them in the pens/pastures, and he saw a few that got out but couldn't hunt there.

Used to be some in Dorchester years ago. Only ones I've heard of are probably the ones that Dave is talking about in Talbot/Queen Anne's area. I think their might be few in Caroline as well. Shore Sportsman had a nice one checked in two years ago I think.

SOUTHEAST PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY. THERE IS A GOOD NUMBER IN THAT AREA BUT ITS HARD TO GAIN PERMISSION TO HUNT THEM. MOST PLACES ARE ALREADY SOWED UP. HUNTERS IN THAT AREA KEEP THINGS QUIET IF YOU KNOW WHAT MEAN. CANT DISAGREE WITH THEM THOUGH THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP SOMETHING THESE DAYS

SOUTHEAST PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY. Okay. I was going to holler "NAH!" since I hunt a good bit in the Baden/Aquasco area, and had never heard of fallow there. Have heard of them on the Shore, and one struck near BW Parkway 20-25 years ago. But I asked a buddy of mine who lives in Baden, and who used to patrol there, and he told me that 30-35 got loose from a place off Duley Station Road a few years back, and he said a few got shot each of the next few years. Hasn't heard of any the last couple years.

I live in Cecil and have never even heard of a fallow in these parts but if I ever seen one I would love to get a shot at it!

That is awsome, where in the county were you hunting? I noticed it said you were at tidewater guide service, did you hunt on private land or is this a guide service that take you to public land? either way that is an awsome deer.

Private ground in Talbot Co. Feral escapees, been there since forever, at least a few. The way that ground is sewed up....good luck getting at em.
